Dallas Kline Biography

Dallas Kline born February 25th 1997, who is a true Slippery Rock student. Dallas is a graduate student at Slippery Rock University planning to obtain a degree in Student Affairs + Higher Education. She currently holds two positions with in the University system. Academic Coordinator for the SRU Football team and Graduate Assistant with Dr. John Rindy in the Career Education Office located in Bailey Library



Dallas has lived in Slippery Rock most of her time in school, only going home when needed even throughout the summer. When she does go home its about 4 ½ hours away from Slippery Rock, called Spring Grove, just south of Harrisburg. Her experiences through life have led her to Slippery Rock.



Dallas graduated from Slippery Rock in the Spring of 2019, with a BS in Sports Management. “My passion for sport and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management is not traditionally paired with Student Affairs” Kline says. “My commitment to education, taking on a good challenge, and helping others has led me down a path to pursue a master's in higher education.” Dallas works two different jobs in and around Slippery Rock. She is a Career Coach with the Career Education and Development Office. She works with the entire staff along with Dr. John Rindy, Director of Career Education & Development. Kline throughout her first year as a career coach has really enjoyed mentoring students to help them grow and succeed. Kline coaches students on how to create resumes and cover letters to use for full time employment and internships, while providing many resources to students aid in their development as a student into a real world professional. Dallas also works as the Academic Coordinator for the Slippery Rock Football Team, (who recently won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title in December) Dallas coordinates with football coaches about the academic performance and progress of student-athletes.

While overseeing the tutorial support by supervising four tutors and assigning players to tutoring groups based on academic strengths she also presents to groups of prospective athletes about the program and how important it is during recruiting. Kline says that she could not have gotten involved more quickly, “We don’t want students to spend money going to Slippery Rock in their first year or two and not find that they are fitting in (because of a variety of reasons) and then leave – then have student loans to pay off, with no degree to get a job” Kline has worked over eight different on campus jobs as well as an internship with Alumni Engagement Office.

Working as a Pride Guide, Community Assistant, President of the Slippery Rock Student Govt. Association, additionally, as the President of the Sport Management Alliance. The opportunities at SRU are endless and Dallas made the most out of it during her four years of undergraduate program. “If I wouldn’t have been a Pride Guide, I wouldn’t have been in Student Government or wouldn’t have worked in Res(idential) Life, I may have never ended up in this Master’s Program and ended up in this role” “Things happened to me and it made the choices that much easier” she stated.


When Dallas came back to Slippery Rock after a long winter break with her family and friends in January 2020, she found two weeks into the Spring semester her father had died. Dallas was obviously very upset and had a long grieving process. Dallas took a week off from work and school to be with her family after such an unexpected loss. She did not know what to do, the semester had already started. She had appointments booked with students in the Career office. The football players were counting on her to help them succeed. But in her heart she wondered if it was worth coming back this semester. Ultimately she came back and enjoyed what she could from the Spring semester. Helping students in so many different ways gave her something to think about during her grieving process.
